NFPA 11 and NFPA 25 require taking annual foam concentrate samples for manufacturer or qualified independent lab analysis. Sampling is the best way to confirm that the foam concentrate is still in serviceable condition. It can also serve to identify a bladder leak that would otherwise go unnoticed. Always remember to protect foam concentrate tanks from cold or excessively hot temperatures as these are common causes of problems with foam concentrate.
